Past simple.
Form:
positive - She played
question - Did she play?
negative - she didn't play
Use for a completed action or state in the past.
the past simple is an action wich it was finished.
Exemples:
- I saw a great film last night.
- We lived in Sydney for two years.
Past continuous.
Form:
I/he/she/it was running.
we/you/they were running.
was i/he/she/it running?
were we/you/they running?
i/he/she/it was not (wasn't) running.
we/you/they were not (weren't) running.
Use to describe a past action at some pointbetween its beginning and its end.
Exemples:
- At 8 o'clock last night we were having dinner.- he was walking down the road when he heard a loud noise.
